Former president of Mongolia, Nambar Enkhbayar arrived in Taiwan on the 9th of November for an 11-day visit. President has been invited by Master Dao Yi (pen name Yu Hsi) due to the joint events of Prabhutaratna Peace Pagoda and Chan Lamp Meditation Hall inauguration.

The presidential couple took a direct train to Hualien right after their arrival at Taoyuan International Airport.
Being a faithful Buddhist himself, president Enkhbayar has developed a long friendship with Master Dao Yi, with whom he first met in 2006.

In the morning of November 10th, President visited Vandana Monastery and attended a performance of music and dance group from the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The dance troupe under the leadership of Mr. Rajaram Moorthy, Tamil Nadu State Government Deputy Minister, arrived in Hualien especially for the opening ceremony of Peace Pagoda. In the evening, Mr. President and former ROC Prime Minister, Chang San-cheng both attended Liberation Rite of Water and Land and rang the Netherworld Bell opening a ritual dedicated to world peace.
On the 11th of November at 11 am, the presidential couple attended Chan Lamp Meditation Hall and Peace Pagoda opening ceremony and the presentation of the newly issued Countless Scriptures book.
Both ceremonies were held in commemoration of 37th anniversary of Vandana Temple Bounty Guanyin statue construction.

In the afternoon, President Enkhbayar admired a musical and dance performance from the Mongolian troupe under the leadership of composer Natsag Jantsannorov. The outstanding performance was dedicated to Vandana Monastery.

After the performance, the guests went to attend Crane Summit 21st Century International Forum, dedicated to poetry and religion. This year, total of 12 participants including head of Tamil University Bhaskaran Ganapathy, Mongolian poet Gombojavi Mend-Ooyo, President of Slovak PEN Centre and famous poet Milan Richter, President of Czech PEN Centre Jiri Dedecek, Kaohsiung Normal University Professor Lin Wen-qin, National Dong Hwa University professor Li Jin-yi and poet Du Ye attended the Forum.

The presidential couple spent 11 days in Taiwan in total and returned to Mongolia on the 20th of November satisfied with their visit.
