“Crane Summit 21st Century International Forum” was established.

 

Crane Summit Supreme Honor Crown Medallion

The Crane Summit Supreme Honor Crown Medallion is a double-sided gold relief medal designed by Master Yu Garden.Dao Yi. This delicate medal is creatively designed so that it can be inserted into a gold plaque. The medallion is regularly awarded to excellent artists and scholars for their contribution to literature, culture and humanism and to promote further artistic and cultural cooperation and exchange worldwide.

 

Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion

Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion was created to award artists and other cultural workers, in order to confirm their hard work and utmost devotion and to acknowledge their outstanding contribution to the popularization of humanities and arts as well as their artistic creations promoting the ideas of beauty and goodness with the ultimate goal to uplift the human soul and the inner qualities of men to establish a rich and harmonious world of literature and art based on tolerance and mutual appreciation.

 

Crane Summit International Poetry Medallion

Crane Summit International Poetry Medallion is awarded to men of letters who have created excellent poetic works and spare no effort in spreading and popularization of poetry. All of the awardees so far are considered outstanding poets who have played decisive roles within the world literary circles and their succinct yet mighty literary force springs from the spiritual homeland of truth, goodness and beauty. This medallion thus acknowledges important literary authors’ remarkable success in the field of poetry.

In Los Angeles, United States, during the World Congress of Poets, Crane Summit 21st Century International Forum conferred the “Crane Summit Supreme Honor Crown Medallion” upon Rosemary Regina Challoner Wilkinson, Emeritus President of World Congress of Poets. She is a poet, a writer, as well as a “lifetime volunteer” devoting herself to arts and culture.

In September 2006, in the year during which Mongolia celebrated the 800th anniversary of the Genghis Khan’s establishment of the Mongolian state, at the Ikh Tenger Palace of the presidential palace in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, the “Crane Summit Supreme Honor Crown Medallion” was conferred upon Dr. Nambar Enkhbayar, President of Mongolia, who is a former editor, writer, Minister of Culture and has devoted himself profoundly to arts and literature. President Enkhbayar has been named by his people the “Cultural President”. (9 September 2006)

 

■ 2007

At the presidential palace in New Delhi, India, Crane Summit 21st International Forum conferred the “Crane Summit Supreme Honor Crown Medallion” upon President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. President Kalam is a prolific writer and poet as well as a scientist and philosopher. The Indian people respectfully call him the “People’s President”.

In return, President Kalam presented Master Master Yu Garden.Dao Yi with a poem “My Garden Smiles”. (28 March 2007)

In September 2007, in Chennai, India, the “Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion” was awarded to M. Karunanidhi, the governor-general of Tamil Nadu.

In March 2008, in Slovakia, the “Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion” was conferred upon Michal Kováč, the founding president of the Slovak Republic, in recognition of his devotion to the developments of national democracy, public welfare, and humanities.

In September 2008, in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, the “Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion” was awarded to Dr. G. Mend-Ooyo in recognition of his longtime contributions to arts and culture.

In December 2008, in Bratislava on the banks of the River Danube, the first ever “Crane Summit International Poetry Medallion” was conferred upon Slovak poet laureate Milan Rúfus, who is known as the “inextinguishable star of the Tatra Mountains”. This man of letters, who has promoted the values of peace and humanism, has devoted his life to the improvement of the world through belief and benevolence and is generally held in high esteem. His collections of poetry have already been translated to more than thirty languages. Rufus has been nominated several times for the Nobel Prize in literature. (21 December 2008)

In Prague, capital of Czech Republic, in the headquarters of the Foundation VIZE 97, the “Crane Summit Supreme Honor Crown Medallion” was conferred upon Václav Havel, the founding president of the Czech Republic, who was a writer, playwright and is known as a “President Philosopher”.  His literary works as well as his achievements in the civil rights movement have earned him high esteem and recognition worldwide. Upon receiving the award, President Havel was deeply moved and said that the medallion was of great value to him. (5 October 2009)

In May 2010, at the National Central Library in Taipei, the “Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion” was awarded to Mr. Tenzing, the vice-president of the Chinese Writer’s & Artist’s Association, and to Mr. Jiří Dědeček, the chairman of the Czech Centre of International PEN club.

In May 2010 in the capital of the Tamil Nadu, India, the “Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion” was awarded to Mr. Surjit Singh Barnala, in recognition of his contribution to the Tamil arts and culture.

In June 2010 in the Vandana Monastery in Hualien, the “Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion” was awarded to Mr. Punsalmaa Ochirbat, the founding president of Mongolia, in recognition of his contribution to culture and arts.

In July 2010 in South Korea the “Crane Summit Supreme Honor Crown Medallion” was conferred upon Korean sinologist professor Heo Se-uk.

In December 2010 in the Vandana Monastery in Hualien, chairman Master Yu Garden.Dao Yi conferred the “Crane Summit Supreme Honor Crown Medallion” upon Jiří Dědeček, the chairman of the Czech Centre of International PEN club.

In December 2010 in the Vandana Monastery in Hualien, the “Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion” was awarded to the Norwegian poet Dr. Knut Ødegård, in recognition of his longtime contribution to arts and culture.

In December 2010 Master Yu Garden.Dao Yi presented the “Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion” to Mr. Sun Jiazheng, the chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, in honor of his contribution to the preservation and promotion of Chinese cultural heritage and arts.

In September 2012, Crane Summit 21st Century International Forum conferred the “2012 Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion” upon Mr. Yitzhak Navon, the fifth Israeli president, writer and journalist, in recognition of his contribution to world peace and his splendid achievements in the field of culture of Latino language and humanistic arts. (The medal was presented by Dr. Cheng Teyuan, president of the National Tainan University of Arts, on behalf of Master Yu Garden.Dao Yi)

The “Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion” was conferred upon Zambry bin Abdul Kadir, the head of the Malaysian state of Perak in recognition of his activities promoting culture and arts. (21 October 2013)

In November 2015, in the Vandana Monastery in Hualien, the “Crane Summit Arts and Culture Medallion” was awarded to Dr. Maurus Young, the president of the World Academy of Arts and Culture, in recognition of his contribution to culture and arts.
